  • In May and September of 2017, Bishop Cary issued two strongly worded directives to priests in his diocese telling them to preach about and help gather signatures for a pro-life petition that would ban taxpayer dollars from being used for abortion. Cary said: “Signing your name to this petition can make the difference between life and death for our tiny brothers and sisters hidden from our sight in the darkness of the womb.” (Diocese of Baker)
  • Bishop Cary attended an anti-Planned Parenthood rally in Bend, Oregon in April 2016 after videos surfaced showing employees of Planned Parenthood were selling aborted baby parts. Baker spoke at the rally and held a sign that read “DEFUND Planned Parenthood.” (Pro-Life Action League)
  • Bishop Cary wrote a newsletter summarizing two major pro-life victories in 2015. In his letter, Cary highlighted the undercover videos of David Daleiden exposing Planned Parenthood selling dead baby parts.
