During a speech he gave at Villanova University in April 2018, Cardinal Tobin was asked about Catholic institutions firing “LGBT” persons. In response, Tobin said “I think it’s a very difficult question.” He added that “The Church is moving on the question of same-sex couples” although not as swiftly as some would like. The event focused on the 5-year anniversary of Pope Francis’ pontificate, and featured speeches from globalist and pro-abortion economist Jeffrey Sachs, progressive Cardinal Maradiaga and liberal Jesuit Fr. Antonio Spadaro.
