In August 2018, Archbishop Listecki issued a strongly worded rebuke of a pro-homosexual retreat taking place in his archdiocese that was not approved by him. The retreat was held at a Dominican Sister’s convent. Gay priests, brothers and deacons attended the retreat. Listecki condemned the event calling it “not in line with Catholic teaching” and “in no way” connected to the Archdiocese. He pointed out that he could not legally stop the retreat from happening.
