Here at Faithful Shepherds we believe a dog is mentally healthy if they are
engaged in training. If they are mentally healthy then of course they will be
physically healthy. The German Shepherd is a very versatile breed . They
are used in many areas of life. You may see one used as a service dog,
search and rescue dog, or a herder on a farm. They may be riding next to
you in a Police car, in the airport sniffing for bombs, or on a secret drug
searching mission. God made German Shepherds very intelligent and they
can be used in many different ways. Therefore training for your Shepherds
may not be the same as all other German Shepherds. At Faithful
Shepherds, we like to find and help you to train your shepherd in the arena
that you feel your shepherd will excel.

Training Programs: Faithful Shepherds has a puppy training course
that is Fabulous. We do not use harsh corrections on puppies as this can
set them back for the rest of their life. We use a food reward system. We
will train your dog and teach you how to use these techniques at home.
This five week course of two hours a week teaches skills such as sit, stay,
lay down, off, and quiet. First course is $125 = $175 if I travel to your
home (within a 50 mile radius of Wildomar). The same course may be
repeated at a rate of $100 = $150 for traveling.

In My Home Training: This same course above repeated while the
dog is living in my home cost $495. I will work on your dogs specific
problem for five weeks. During this service the owner must supply the dogs
food and vet bills.

Herding: Is offered at a local club. The cost is $25 a day for two
sessions of 1/2 hour to 1 hour each per dog this price is if you bring your
own dog and enter into the herding ring to train with your dog. If you prefer
to have someone else train your dog for herding this cost per day is $35.

Show Training: If you are interested in show training your dog for
German style shows please contact me for rates. This will be determined
on the individuality of each dog and how much work is anticipated to get
the dog ready for a show.

Schutzhund Training: As shown above I have so far put an BH and
AD on my female Farrah. I can help you to train for your AD for a minimal
charge of 100 dollars. The BH beginning Test for Schutzhund training is
best taught at a Schutzhund club. A list of great clubs can be found at :
http://www.gsdca-wda.org/clubs.htm The club that I recommend in
Riverside county is called Southern California Schaeferhund Club. We
meet at a local park in Canyon Lake area. The cost is $50 a year for
insurance costs and $20 per dog per session. $30 if you are bringing an
additional dog at the same time. The instructor in charge of training for this
club is Thomas Grewe. His number is (951) 858-1548. He can be reached
for additional information and club meeting times.

Service Dog Training: We can help with any of your problem
areas in service dog training; we know how hard this can be. We have
worked hand in hand with some of the service dogs enrolled in the IVAD
(Inland Valley Assistance Dog Club) program in San Diego County. It is
close to our heart to help those who own service dogs. Depending upon
how far away you live will be the cost. If you come to our house them the
fee will be $10. Any other fee added to the $10 charge would be to cover
the cost of gas getting to your house and back.
Of course anyone is welcome to join IVAD they take wonderful field trips
together in groups that really helps out you and your service dog.

Socialization: This is very important to every German Shepherd no
matter what arena you are going to train them in. I charge $20 (+ gas
money if your home or the site is far from my house) for a few hours to take
them out in a situation that will be most beneficial to the dog at the stage in
which he/she is at. If the social problem is in your home I charge the same
fee. Examples of sites are public parks, Petco, PetSmart, my home, in town
walking near people, or at a dog park. It is important that a dog can
interact with other dogs and people. Good social behaviors are easier to
teach to dogs at five months of age or younger. Older dogs can come
around too after their bad habits have been broken.

Home Sitting: Yes were vacation watchers. Tired of getting home
from vacation and your dogs are sick from the boarding kennel? Well, why
not leave them at home and have Faithful Shepherds come to your house
and take care of them? We will come to your home, feed, water, and
exercise your dogs twice a day for a fee of $50 a day (within a 50 mile
radius) You will need to supply food and necessary vet info. If there is a
excessive number of dogs this price will increases accordingly. Call for
references. Plant and other animal care for minimal fee.
